Redeeming a Ticket Award

Guidelines for EVA Air/UNI Air International Ticket Awards Redemption

  • Not applicable for:
    1. Routes served with charter flights.
    2. Some routes code-shared with partner airlines, e.g., Taipei-Tokyo flights code-shared with All Nippon and/or operated by All Nippon.
  • Two stopovers are allowed for a round trip award ticket, including one in outbound and one in inbound. The turnaround point and stopovers cannot be the same with the origin or destination’s nation
    *Example:
    Permitted: (A) Tokyo / Taipei / HongKong / Taipei / Tokyo (B) HongKong /Taipei / Singapore / Taipei / HongKong
  • Use of a different gateway in the same area is permitted at the origination point or turnaround point or at both origination and turnaround points. However, departure and arrival points must be in the same area. The outward point of arrival and the inward point of departure must also be in the same area. A trip starting from Taiwan to a turnaround point must return to Taiwan. Using different gateways for departure and return within the same area is at passenger's expense.
    1. Area Definition: Asia (includes Guam), Oceania, America, Europe.
    2. Examples
      Permitted: (A) Singapore/Taipei/Kuala Lumpur (B) New York/Taipei/Singapore-Kuala Lumpur/Taipei/Seattle
      Not permitted: Taipei/Los Angeles/Taipei/Hong Kong
  • For travel to Taipei or beyond, the mileage deduction is based on standard long-haul routes. When different aircraft types are used for short-haul flights, the class of cabin service cannot be higher than the service on the long-haul portion of the trip.
  • Award ticket with different classes of service: Mileage will be deducted based on the cabin with the higher ticket cost.
  • Award tickets can combine travel on a UNI Air international route with EVA Air flights.
  • If there is a change in origin or return gateways between Hong Kong/Macau/Mainland China and another destination in Asia, e.g., Taipei – Hong Kong, Bangkok – Taipei, etc., requirements for redeeming award tickets Within Asia rules apply.
  • A one-way award ticket cannot include a stopover.
