TAIPEI (6 Feb., 2003) - EVA Air today released its financial performance figures for 2002 (un-audited). The total revenue for 2002 was NT$64.577 billion - the highest since EVA Air's launch in 1991.
This figure represents a growth of 23 per cent on 2001, up from ND$52.451 billion. Passenger revenue also grew 10 per cent and cargo revenue rose 33 per cent compared to 2001. Pre-tax profit totaled NT$2.412 billion, with a share value of NT$1.09.
The Asian airline industry continued to enjoy good results throughout 2002 despite the weaker performance of the industry in both America and Europe. EVA Air positively adjusted its financial forecast twice during the year, in September and November.
EVA Air is due to take delivery of a new Airbus fleet during the second quarter of 2003 to replace older aircraft and increase capacity. |
