EVA Presnets Next Generation of Business Class

EVA Air staged a special exhibition of its next generation of business class, Premium Laurel, on Tuesday, July 8 in the Hangar Bay of Evergreen Technologies and Space Corporation.  Special guests were invited to preview the carrier's innovative Premium Laurel Class and to touch, feel and see leading-edge business class amenities.

Premium Laurel Class was created after two years of planning, careful study of passenger preferences and requirements, and a thorough evaluation of the breakthroughs and new technologies available from leading manufacturers.  EVA took the opportunity presented by the introduction of its first Airbus A330-200 to officially launch its new Premium Laurel business class.

'Premium Laurel is going to give our business class passengers memorable inflight experiences,' said K.W. Chang, Executive Vice President.  'The comforts and amenities we are introducing in Premium Laurel Class set a new and higher standard for onboard services and create a cabin environment where passengers can enjoy comforts of home.'

The carefully designed aircraft features cutting-edge technology in an enhanced, extra-wide cabin, and seats that have a 61-in. pitch.  Both the angle of the headrests and depth of bottom cushions are fully adjustable.  Pneumatic lumbar supports and legrests are electronically operated, stretching seats out at an angle that is almost flat.  Hard-shell seat construction allows passengers to sit, recline or lie down without inconveniencing anyone in front or behind, and ensures that the passenger in the next row back can continue to enjoy a movie or game without interruption.  Phenomenal new pull-down bins give passengers extra stowage space for baggage without shrinking headroom.

Each Premium Laurel seat is also equipped with a 10.4-inch VGA LCD monitor, hi-fi and noise-cancellation earphones.  An Audio Video on Demand (AVOD) system, also offered in Economy Class aboard EVA's new A330-200s, allows passengers to use remote controls to personally select from among 10 films, 12 TV shorts, more than 350 pieces of music and five PC games.

The galley is equipped with microwave and steam ovens, espresso machines and wine chillers to give passengers piping hot foods and fresh coffee whenever they might want it during a flight.  Faucets in washrooms have proximity sensors.  A lavatory has been widened to 60 inches to accommodate passengers in wheelchairs or with special needs, and also outfitted with an infant care station.

Not only will each of the new Airbus A330-200s EVA is adding to its fleet feature Premium Laurel Class, but the new business class will also be included on other new aircraft the carrier is adding to its fleet.  In addition, EVA will further enhance passenger comforts by reconfiguring aircraft in its existing fleet and replacing its original business class with Premium Laurel Class.
