EVA Adds Flights to Meet Busy Winter Season Demand
Schedule in effect October 30

TAIPEI, (October 17, 2005) -- EVA Air is meeting strong market demand by adding flights to Brisbane, Sydney, Auckland, Jakarta, Vienna and London, effective with the start of its winter schedule on October 30, 2005. The airline has also scheduled 130 special charter flights on routes between Taipei and Japanese destinations it serves from September through December 2005.

On its winter schedule, EVA is increasing Brisbane flights from three per week to four, and Sydney service from two to three trips.  The Auckland route code-shared with Air New Zealand has been both enhanced and expanded with deployment of one of EVA’s new Airbus 330-200s and a boost in frequency from three flights per week to four.  EVA operates its aircraft on the route during the winter while Air New Zealand equipment is used in summer.
In Europe, EVA is increasing its Taipei - London service from five flights each week to six.  And in mid-December, the airline is lifting Vienna service from three to five weekly trips.
Within Asia where EVA has one of the best-developed destination networks in the airline industry, it is upping Taipei-Jakarta frequency from three to six flights per week.  It responded to demand resulting from the end of visa requirements for Taiwanese travelers by launching a strong charter flight schedule to Japan a month ago and transforming that country into its most popular destination.
EVA took delivery of its 10th brand-new A330-200, the aircraft to be used on Taipei-Auckland service, in early October.   It will take delivery of its 11th Airbus, the last it has on order, in May 2006.  With that delivery, EVA will be serving all of its Asian and Oceania routes plus Taipei-Vienna and Taipei-Honolulu with new A330-200s, and giving passengers integrated services that include a remarkable Audio/Video on Demand system with movies, news, features, music and games.
Starting on September 15, 2005, EVA introduced its first two brand-new Boeing 777-300ERs on Taipei – London flights, gaining immediate response from passengers to its latest generation of upgraded services, and to Premium Laurel Class in particular.  Though EVA increased Premium Laurel Class seating from 24 to 42 onboard the B777s, the load factor on this route continues to grow.
All EVA passengers are encouraged to note winter changes and time zone differences, and to visit the EVA Web site at www.evaair.com to check the most up-to-date flight schedules.   Passengers can also use this Web site to choose seats and make menu selections for inflight meals.
