EVA Air Starts New Hawaii Service

Taipei, Taiwan (June 25, 2005) – As a brand-new Airbus A330-200 arrived at Honolulu International Airport today, EVA Air introduced service to Hawaii. The 252 passengers onboard the fully-booked flight were welcomed Hawaiian-style with hula dancers, individual flower baskets, warmth and hospitality in a special reception hosted by Hawaiian Tourism officials.


EVA is now flying between Honolulu and Taipei three times each week, offering scheduled service on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, starting on June 25, 2005.  EVA flight BR22 departs Taipei’s CKS at 7:00 p.m. and arrives in Honolulu at 11:05 a.m. the same day.  Return flight BR21 leaves Honolulu at 12:35 p.m. and lands back in Taipei at 5:05 p.m. the following day. 


Nonstop flight time is approximately 10 hours in both directions.  The technologically advanced A330-200 aircraft the airline has chosen for this route gives passengers the latest comforts and amenities in an upgraded Economy and EVA’s innovative new top cabin class, Evergreen Laurel.
“Our new service adds 18,000 air seats from Taiwan to Hawaii this year,” said Steve Lin, Chairman, EVA Air.  “Today’s flight was fully booked, and future bookings are equally strong.  Our passengers clearly appreciate quality service, and they appreciate the world’s greatest vacation destination.”EVA’s attractive flight schedules and the captivating destination have resulted in full flights and strong bookings throughout the coming peak summer travel season.  The technologically advanced A330-200 EVA is using for this service is configured with 24 seats in Premium Laurel Class and 228 in Economy.  The aircraft also features EVA’s own Audio/Visual on Demand entertainment system at every seat.  Premium Laurel Class passengers enjoy extra roomy, molded lie-flat seats and all the comforts and amenities of today’s most advanced top cabin class.  Those in Economy have the advantages of a cabin comparable to a state-of-the art domestic business class.
