EVA Creates New Music Video for Passenger Boarding
Travelers welcomed with melodies of landmarks, landscapes, culture, art

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (20 June, 2007) -- EVA Air has officially released a brand-new music video for passenger boarding.   Entitled “Ilha Formosa” or beautiful island, the new music video was premiered at a 14 June press conference in Taipei, Taiwan co-hosted by EVA President Peter Chen and Taiwan Tourism Bureau Director General Janice Lai.

The new, 40-minute production gives form and meaning to traditional Taiwanese folk songs with innovative video of the country’s stunning landscapes, well-known landmarks, cultural icons and beautiful art.  EVA created it to support the Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s campaign to promote tourism among both expatriates and travelers from throughout the world.  The Taiwan Tourism Bureau worked in cooperation with EVA throughout production of “Ilha Formosa.”

EVA is airing trial broadcasts of “Ilha Formosa” on all its flights worldwide and passenger response is positive.  As more and more EVA flights link destinations around the globe, the new boarding music video is bound to encourage travel to Taiwan.

Music for the new video is performed by the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra.  The previous boarding video also featured the Evergreen Symphony but focused on the performers as they played beautiful, familiar Taiwanese folk songs.  With the new video, the orchestra’s symphonic melodies will continue to touch the hearts of Taiwanese passengers coming home after living abroad for a long time and also create an inviting, relaxing environment for an enjoyable flight.

Starting in July, passengers can purchase DVDs of the “Ilha Formosa” music video inflight.  EVA produced “Ilha Formosa” in high resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) with Blu-ray Disc technology.   Combined with surround sound (5.1), boarding passengers will experience better quality pictures and sound than they would in many theaters.  The new boarding music video reflects EVA’s emphasis on quality and sets new standards for in-house production.
