Kuala Lumpur International Airport expands automated immigration for 63 countries starting from June 2024

Effective from June 1st , 2024, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) expands its automated immigration clearance facilities for both arrival and departure. This enhancement provides a more convenient entry and exit process for travelers from 63 countries (including Taiwan) who have completed the Malaysian Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) in advance.
Important Notice:
- Automated Clearance Facilities: Foreign passport holders from eligible countries can utilize the automated clearance system at KLIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, using facial recognition and biometric technology to avoid queues.
- Passport Eligibility: Only passports meeting International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and equipped with chips are eligible for automated clearance services.
- MDAC Requirement: Except for Singaporean citizens, all international travelers must complete the MDAC before arriving in Malaysia. Please update your MDAC information at least 3 days prior to arrival. For more details, please refer to Malaysian Immigration Department's MDAC information。
