How to Redeem?

Infinity MileageLands members can redeem their mileage for Star Alliance Partners award tickets and fly to more than one thousand places around the world. Required mileage depends on the area, not the carrier. If the award ticket includes any Star Alliance flights, please refer to the following instructions. If all flights are operated by EVA Air, please refer to EVA Air’s award ticket redeem table. (UNI Air is not eligible for Star Alliance Partners Award Tickets.).

Application & Ticketing

  • All award reservations can be made through the EVA Air website or any EVA Air Reservation Office. (Star Alliance Award Ticket with stopover and Star Alliance World Travel Award Ticket service can be provided by contacting EVA local reservation and ticketing offices only.) While making a reservation, members should hold valid and sufficient miles under the same Infinity MileageLands membership account. The open window for award bookings is subject to each airline's policy.
  • All reservations must be confirmed before ticketing. Airport standby is not permitted.
  • When the reservation is confirmed, the member or authorized designee with valid and sufficient miles earned by the same member and under the same membership account can go to the EVA Air website or any EVA Air ticketing counter during office hours to issue an Star Alliance award ticket (except at airports). Ticketing time limit set by Star Alliance member carriers applies. Un-ticketed reservation in time may result in booking cancellation.

Requirements for Redeeming Star Alliance Partners Award Tickets

Notes

  • For a used award ticket, the return flight can be changed three days before the departure, but only the travel date or flight number with the same carrier and same route can be changed.
  • In case of double-booking on same destination (airline, route, and boarding date) for award and normal tickets, the airline flown with has the discretion to cancel the reservation.
  • Two stopovers are allowed for a round trip award ticket, including one outbound and one inbound. The turnaround point and stopovers cannot be the same with the origin or destination’s nation. A maximum of six sectors are allowed for each round trip award ticket.
  • Stopovers are not allowed for a one-way ticket. A maximum of three sectors are allowed for each one-way award ticket.
  • One open-jaw segment is allowed for the whole itinerary; however, the open jaw must be in the outward point of departure or turnaround point and they must be in the same area. Ex: TPE-LAX (open jaw) SFO-TPE (O)
  • For an award ticket containing more than one zone, the zone with the higher mileage requirement will be applied.
  • The issued award ticket cannot be transferred.
  • The itinerary of a whole new award ticket can be changed. A service fee of USD50 will be applied, and the reissued ticket validity will remain the same. Any mileage differences will be reimbursed to a member's account if the reissued award ticket requires fewer miles than the original itinerary. Additional miles may be collected if the award ticket is requested for reissue. If the miles used for the original award ticket had expired when the ticket was reissued, then that same number of miles equal to those that have expired will be collected. Effective from Sep. 1, 2015, the service fee will be waived for an award ticket of a member in the Diamond, Gold or Silver tier at the time of application.
  • A totally unused ticket is refundable. The taxes, surcharges, and valid miles will be refunded. A service fee of USD50 will be applied. Effective from Sep. 1, 2015, the service fee will be waived for an award ticket of a member in the Diamond, Gold or Silver tier at the time of application.
  • A partially used award ticket can be refunded. The valid unused flights, including applicable taxes and surcharges, and valid unused awards mileage after deducting used one-way mileage, will be refunded. A service fee of USD50 will be applied. Effective from Sep. 1, 2015, the service fee will be waived for an award ticket of a member in the Diamond, Gold or Silver tier at the time of application.
  • Singapore Airlines (SQ) Suites Class cabin, and Swiss International Air (LX) Lines First Class cabins cannot be used for this offer.
  • Star Alliance airlines without first class operation: JP, A3, AC, NZ, OS, AV, SN, CM, OU, ET, LO, SK, TP, TK, SA, MS, UA, OZ.
  • Award tickets must be booked on the Operating Airline Code.

  • Blackout periods may apply and will be determined by individual Star Alliance carriers.
  • Before boarding, be sure to check with the flight airline or the EVA Air Reservation Center, as partner airline flights may be canceled or changed without prior notification.
  • Award seats on Star Alliance member airlines are subject to capacity control by the operating carrier.
  • Ticket validity: One year after the ticket is issued. No extensions are permitted.
  • A one-way award ticket can be issued. The required mileage is half of the round trip award ticket.
  • The redemption of a child ticket is the same as the adult’s. An unaccompanied child under 12 years cannot travel alone.
  • Purchase an infant ticket for infants (10% normal adult fare)
  • International flights Award Tickets shall be subject to governmental approval. Also, the use of Award Tickets shall comply all the general carriage conditions, tariffs and charges, ticket conditions, and every policy of the operating airline, together with every applicable International Treaty and by all the terms and conditions of the Infinity MileageLands program.

  • Award tickets with different class service: The highest class will be applied to the whole itinerary.
  • International flights Award Tickets shall be subject to governmental approval. Also, the use of Award Tickets shall comply all the general carriage conditions, tariffs and charges, ticket conditions, and every policy of the operating airline, together with every applicable International Treaty and by all the terms and conditions of the Infinity MileageLands program.

Guidelines for the Award Program for Around the World Travel with Star Alliance

  • Required mileage for one Around the World Award Ticket: Economy: 180,000 miles, Business: 325,000 miles, First: 480,000 miles.
  • Maximum 10 flight sectors are allowed for the whole award ticket.
  • Ticket validity: One year after the ticket is issued. No extensions are permitted.
  • The around the world travel means traveling from the starting point in one direction via the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean and back to the location where the travel started.
  • Ex) Taipei > Tokyo > Los Angeles > New York > London > Frankfurt > Singapore > Bangkok > Taipei (O)
  • The member can travel within the same category area in the inverse direction, but the member cannot travel inversely to different categories on the basis of the area division around the world by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). (1. U.S., 2. Europe/Africa, 3. Asia/Oceania)
  • The period of the around the world travel should be longer than 10 days.
  • A maximum of seven stopovers are allowed for the whole itinerary.
  • One city is allowed for only one departure. Only one departure and one arrival of international flights are allowed for one country.
