Sporting Equipment

Pre-advise EVA Air at the time of booking.
For non-motorized touring and racing single-seat bicycles, before the bicycle is checked, the tires need to be deflated. Rotate the handle to 90 degrees and tighten, remove or turn the pedals inside.
The packaging should be based on the principle of protecting the bicycle during transportation and not causing damage due to normal wear and tear. It is recommended to use a hard-shell bike travel bag.
EVA Air reserves the right to refuse delivery if other easily damaged packaging methods are used.
EVA Air will not be liable if the bicycle is not properly packed or protected from damage.
Electric bicycles are unacceptable if the equipment contains batteries.

One equipment bag and a maximum of two sticks taped together will count as one piece of baggage. Hockey sticks must be packed separately from hockey equipment in a hard-sided container or sporting bag.
Hockey (e.g. field hockey/ice hockey), ringette, lacrosse, and football equipment: one helmet, a puck/ring/football/stick, a set of pads, and a pair of cleats, shoes, or skates are included as part of one accepted set, per guest.

Pre-advise the EVA Air Reservation office at least 5 working days prior to the date of travel.
Must have the required documentation and licenses. This includes export/import licenses and authorization from local and national authorities (e.g. invitation letter)
Person’s own use only.
Consisting of no more than
1. One rifle case containing no more than two rifles, 5kg(11lbs) of ammunition, one shooting mat, noise suppressors, and small rifle tools, or
2. Two shotguns and two shotgun cases, 5kg(11lbs) of ammunition, or
3. One pistol case containing no more than 5 pistols, 5kg(11lbs) of ammunition, noise suppressors, one pistol telescope, and small pistol tools
4. Ammunition is packed in either its original packaging or in a suitable container that prevents movement between shells or cartridges (i.e. loose ammunition is not permitted).

Note

Sporting equipment can be included as part of your checked baggage allowance. Excess baggage fee will be applied if you bring additional, oversized, or overweight baggage.
Any sports item not mentioned in the table will be regarded as normal baggage and excess baggage fee may apply.
If the equipment bag contains clothing or anything other than approved items, then it will be charged as a standard checked bag, and additional oversize charges may apply.
Sporting equipment must be packed appropriately to prevent possible damage. If it is not packed well, EVA Air may refuse to accept it as checked baggage.
You may be asked to open your baggage check at the airport if necessary.
If your sporting equipment has high value, it is recommended that you purchase the baggage insurance before travel, which may provide you with a more comprehensive insurance coverage.

EVA is not liable if and to the extent that the delay, loss or damage resulted from the inherent defect, quality or vice of the baggage.

Charges for a single piece of overweight baggage
● 23kg(50lbs) < Weight ≦ 32kg(70lbs): 0.5 piece of excess baggage charge rate should be applied
● 32kg(70lbs) < Weight ≦ 45kg(100lbs): 3 pieces of excess baggage charge rate should be applied and get EVA Air’s approval prior to travel
● Weight > 45kg(100lbs): Not accepted as checked baggage
Charges for a single piece of oversized baggage according to the total linear dimension of the baggage (length + width + height)
● Dimensions ≦ 277cm(109in): No charge for oversize baggage fee
● Dimensions > 277cm(109in): 2 pieces of excess baggage charge rate should be applied
● Dimensions > 292cm(115in): Can be accepted only if it can be loaded in the cargo hold of the flight
