Jan 17, 2023

EVA Air ranks ninth among  AirlineRatings.com’s top-20 World’s Safest Airlines for 2023. This marks the airline’s 10th consecutive year to earn a place among the global ratings website’s “safest airlines in the world.” The website’s safety-rating analyses  considers serious incidents, audits from aviation’s governing bodies and lead associations, fleet age, pilot training and COVID protocols. Travelers can learn more about EVA’s commitment to safety and award-winning services, explore its global route system and book flights at www.evaair.com.

“EVA has made ‘safety without compromise’ our priority from the day we were established,” said EVA President Clay Sun. “Even during strict COVID lockdowns, we upheld safety practices and met our high operating standards. This recognition is a credit to the work and commitment of our entire EVA team. It is also an inspiration for all of us to continue to do our best to provide our passengers with the safest and the most comfortable flying experiences possible.”

Now that Taiwan and most countries in Asia have loosed COVID restrictions, EVA is steadily resuming its global schedule and launching services to new gateways, including Milan, Munich and, starting on March 30, Clark International Airport in the Philippines.

“Airlines have incidents every day. Many are aircraft or engine manufacturer issues, not airline operational problems. It is the way the flight crew handles these incidents that determines a good airline from an unsafe one. Our top 20 safest airlines 2023 are always at the forefront of safety innovation, operational excellence, and the launching of new more advanced aircraft like the Airbus A350 (above) and Boeing 787,” said Geoffrey Thomas, Editor-in-Chief, AirlineRatings.com.

AirlineRatings.com was launched in 2013 and rates the safety, in-flight product and COVID-19 compliance of 385 airlines using its unique seven-star rating system. It has been used by millions of passengers from 195 countries and has become the industry standard for safety, product and COVID-19 ratings.

Over more than 30 years of operating international passenger and airfreight flights, EVA has earned a reputation for excellence in its services and safety practices. It consistently gets high marks from AirlineRatings.com and JACDEC and, through biennial audits, it has repeatedly secured IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certifications.
