Vancouver

The development and history of Vancouver are closely linked to immigrants. In the 1850s, Chinese people followed the gold rush and came to British Columbia. Some of them chose to remain in Vancouver. Later, European immigrants kept arriving, improving and developing the prosperity of Gastown. And so they established the economic foundation of this city. Nowadays, Vancouver is the biggest city on the west coast of Canada. For Canadians it is also the "Terminal City." From Vancouver International Airport, they can take flights to anyplace around the world. They can also go by ferry or airplane to Vancouver Island, where the provincial capital of British Columbia, Victoria, is located. Vancouver is linked to Seattle by highway and railroad. You can also go east to the Rocky Mountains and north to Whistler, the famous skiing resort. Departing from Vancouver, you can go anyplace conveniently by any form of transport.
