EVA to Launch Nonstop Flights to Clark International Airport Third Philippines destination adds convenience, flexibility

EVA Air will launch daily nonstop flights between Taipei and the northwestern Philippines, starting on March 30, 2023. The addition of Clark International Airport will give EVA three gateways in the Philippines and boost the convenience and flexibility passengers enjoy now with Manila and Cebu service. By the end of March, the airline will be operating 35 flights a week to the Philippines, offering travelers from throughout Asia, Europe, Australia and North America more arrival and departure options. Scaling up efficiency: EVA Air first airline in Asia to sign for AeroSHARK modification

Lufthansa Technik AG is proud to announce EVA Air as the first Asian airline having signed for modifications with its drag-reducing and hence fuel-saving AeroSHARK surface technology jointly developed with BASF. The Taipei-based airline decided to have its entire cargo fleet of nine Boeing 777F long-range freighters modified with the innovative riblet films covering the aircraft’s fuselage and engine nacelles. With B-16786, a first EVA Air freighter has already undergone this comprehensive modification at the airline’s homebase at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport. Closely guided by Lufthansa Technik, the modification was executed by EVA Air's affiliate, Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp. (EGAT). The aircraft is expected to re-enter commercial service in early September.

EVA Air launched its Taipei-Clark maiden flight on March 30. This latest addition to its convenient Philippines schedule joins popular Manila and Cebu service. EVA celebrated its newest destination with an inaugural flight ceremony at Taoyuan International Airport hosted by the airline’s President Clay Sun. Distinguished guests, including Taoyuan International Airport Corporation Chairman Wei-Fuu Yang, Aviation Police Bureau Chief Wen-Liang Chiou, Border Affairs Corps. Deputy Chief Commander Szu-Hsing Chen, Customs Administration Director Kuo-Hsin Fang, and Deputy Resident Manila Economic and Cultural Office Representative Alice Q. Visperas cut the ribbon, in a simple, festive ceremony.

EVA Welcomes 1st Star Alliance Liveried Boeing 787-10

EVA Air took delivery of its eighth Boeing 787-10, aircraft number B-17812, at the Boeing factory in North Charleston, South Carolina on May 5, 2023. The new aircraft is EVA’s first Boeing 787-10 with a Star Alliance livery and it made its ferry flight with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), further reducing carbon emissions. The aircraft departed Charleston Airport and after flying for approximately 17 hours, landed at Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) at 2:00 p.m. (UTC+8) on May 7, 2023.
