An expectant mother during the last 4 weeks of pregnancy prior to confinement or a mother within the first 7 days after giving birth cannot be accepted as a passenger on an EVA flight.
An expectant mother during the last 12 to 4 weeks of pregnancy prior to confinement must obtain and complete a medical information sheet (MEDIF) within 10 days prior to flight departure. Additionally, contact your EVA Air reservations office at least 48 hours (two working days) before your scheduled flight departure.
It is recommended to bring a Doctor's Diagnostic Statement verifying the expected date of confinement to the airport.
Regulations vary from country to country. We recommend you check travel requirements with the local diplomatic mission of your destination country before you make a reservation.
If you need wheelchair service, please advise us of your physical status when you make reservations. If you want to carry your own manual-powered or battery-powered wheelchair, EVA will accept it free of charge as long as it is securely packed. A fully collapsible manual-powered wheelchair may be carried as your carry-on baggage, but it may be loaded in the cargo compartment at the airline's discretion if there is no stowing space available in cabin. Battery-powered wheelchairs can only be carried as checked baggage in the cargo compartment if the battery is disconnected, terminals are insulated and the battery is securely attached to the wheelchair, which should always be loaded in an upright position. Please check in at the airport as early as possible. For more detailed information, please contact EVA Reservations.
For health concerns, EVA Air does not accept infants 7 days or younger.
Each adult can travel with one infant not occupying a seat. If two infants are traveling with the adult, one of them must be 6 months or older and occupying a seat, which may cost as much as a child or an adult ticket. You must provide your own infant seat, such as one used in an automobile, and secure it to cabin seating. In Royal Laurel Class, infant or child safety seats are not accepted, and CARES harnesses are not available.
A limited number of bassinets can be reserved on all EVA Air flights for infants less than 8 months of age.
If you are traveling with many children and infants, please contact our Reservation Department for further assistance.
For flight safety, only one stretcher passenger can be accepted aboard each EVA flight.
A stretcher passenger must hold a doctor's certificate for air travel, and be accompanied by one doctor or nurse. If medical procedures are not needed, a family member can accompany the stretcher passenger. Because this service requires special preparation, please contact EVA Reservations for more details.
You must be able-bodied.
You must be physically capable of helping the disabled passenger to/from toilet facilities if required, to the emergency exit in case of an evacuation, and on enplaning and deplaning.
You must remain with the passenger throughout the entire flight.
You must be familiar with the disabled passenger's state of health and with all assistance required.
You must not have any other responsibilities, such as the care of small children.
A child traveling alone is regarded as an Unaccompanied Minor. EVA requires children traveling as Unaccompanied Minors to be at least 5 and no older than 12 years of age. For your child's safety, consider EVA's escort service. Upon request and for a charge, EVA will escort the following:
Unaccompanied Minors who are younger than 12 years of age but older than 2; young passenger (12-18 years of age) ; healthy elderly passengers. EVA escorts do not provide special treatment to passengers but act as companions. Each EVA escort can accompany 2 children. Please contact EVA Reservations for more details.
