"Let me fly with you" Children’s Early Intervention Support Program

Children’s Early Intervention Support Program Flying Record of D.D Angels.

Let Me Fly with you

EVA Air has been flying for over 30 years, committed to ensuring the safety of every passenger, and equally dedicated to safeguarding the survival and developmental rights of children. The airline hopes to help eliminate labels of developmental delay and obstacles, and reverse inequalities or discrimination, calling on the public to continue to pay attention to the needs of early intervention families, and to build an inclusive and friendly society.

The early intervention for children with developmental delay (D.D. Angels) is a long and challenging journey. Professional therapy services require the patience and persistence of parents to see progress and the results of their efforts.

The theme, "Let Me Fly With You," symbolizes EVA Air’s commitment to supporting and accompanying the growth of D.D. Angels! You fly slowly, I fly with you! With kind attention and support, they will gradually spread their wings and soar.

D.D Angels
A lovingly describes the endearing children who, before they even turn 6, encounter hurdles in their journey of growth. These hurdles can be seen in various aspects of their development, including cognitive abilities, physical skills, language and communication, social interactions, and self-care tasks. Without the nurturing support they deserve, these little angels may face challenges that could potentially lead to disabilities or worsen existing difficulties. It's important to realize that "developmental delay" isn't a scary label; it simply highlights the uniqueness of each child's path, influenced by factors like genetics, health conditions, environment, and access to learning opportunities.

Introducing Let Me Fly With You

Origin

In 2023, EVA Air had a heartfelt desire to bring joy to children from disadvantaged families, allowing them to also enjoy a happy Children’s Day. Through a series of fortunate events, the airline was introduced to D.D. Angels, and in the process, came to understand the crucial role that early intervention plays in the development of children. After visiting various early intervention organizations across Taiwan and gaining a deeper understanding of the needs of these families, EVA Air initiated an internal donation campaign. The goal was to provide educational materials, toys, and medical aids to enhance the therapeutic effects for the children, while also engaging in volunteer services. This led to the creation of the "Children's Early Intervention Care and Support Program."

Challenges Faced by D.D. Families

A survey of caregivers for children aged 0 to 6 found that 80% of parents struggle to balance work, household duties, and childcare. This is even more challenging for families with children in early intervention. Many parents, when noticing developmental delays, often deny the issue, thinking it will resolve with age, which delays seeking help. Combined with pressures from social, family, and financial stresses, these families can quickly feel overwhelmed.

Early intervention services not only provide therapy for children but also support parents through activities, workshops, and meetings to help them understand their child’s needs, build parenting skills, and confidently navigate the challenges of caregiving.

How We Fly Together

  • Internal Fundraising for Children’s Day Gifts:EVA Air launched a fundraising campaign to provide gifts for D.D. Angels from disadvantaged families, offering both care and encouragement for their continued progress.
  • Assistive Devices and Educational Tools:EVA Air coordinated with organizations to donate necessary devices and educational materials to support the growth of D.D. Angels.
  • "Let Me Fly With You" Interactive Seminar: EVA Air invited service organizations to share early intervention stories, engage in role-playing, and offer immersive experiences to better understand the needs of D.D. Angels.
  • Volunteer Service Participation:A volunteer team made up of EVA Air employees organizes "field trips" for D.D. Angels, offering children opportunities for social participation and helping them improve their social adaptability through diverse experiences.
  • Mobile Early Intervention Service: The mobile early intervention unit brings EVA Air’s care and goodwill for child development to remote areas. It delivers services and therapy directly to children and families, spreading warmth and support through community outreach.

Design Concept

To better connect with the language of D.D. Angels, the event's visual design invited the renowned illustrator Xie Jie-Wen, who has created countless friendly healthcare spaces in Taiwan. The goal is to encourage the public to approach early intervention issues from a warmer perspective.

2025 Main Visual

2026 Key Visual

Centered around the theme “With love, the world paves the way for you,” the visual features an EVA Air aircraft soaring across the sky—symbolizing the brand’s role in guiding forward with steadiness, care, and quiet strength. The image of a home serves as the starting point, representing every moment of being supported and embraced. From this foundation grows a tree formed by love, symbolizing the strength that gradually takes shape through companionship and continuous support. Across the grass, a gathering of small animals reflects a sense of togetherness and the absence of loneliness. Rabbits, puppies, and sheep—each carrying gentle and comforting associations—are portrayed with soft smiles, expressing the hope that children with developmental challenges can grow up with joy and warmth. Rendered in a playful, hand-drawn style, the imperfect strokes and flowing lines embody the idea that love does not transform things instantly. Instead, it accumulates over time—nurturing growth patiently, allowing the future to unfold naturally.

EVA Air's airplane, filled with love and hope, creates beautiful dreams for the little angels who fly slowly. Like a bridge, it connects the sky to the earth, linking dreams with reality. The green fence is no longer something that holds them back, but a gentle protector, quietly watching over them as they grow. The bright blue sky, like the children's sparkling eyes, shines with the light of hope. The airplane is more than just a flight; it's the wings of a dream, carrying love and care, ready to soar into the sky.

Flying Toward Sustainability

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 6% to 8% of children worldwide experience developmental delays. In Taiwan, nearly 100,000 children may be affected each year, with around 10% of them facing severe delays. However, if developmental delays are detected early and intervention is provided before the age of 6, it can significantly reduce the severity of future challenges.

Through early intervention, professional support is provided to address the child’s specific needs, giving some children the opportunity to catch up with their peers. For children with moderate to severe developmental delays, early intervention not only reduces the impact of their disabilities but also helps them unlock more of their potential. Research shows that the period before age 6 is critical for child development, and especially the years before age 3, which is considered the golden stage for therapeutic intervention. The benefits of one year of early therapy can be equivalent to 10 years of progress after the age of 3. Therefore, early identification and intervention are vital for a child’s growth.

EVA Air has long cared for the land of Taiwan, upholding the spirit of giving back to society. In line with the United Nations' Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, EVA Air leads the advocacy for the "right to survival and development" of children. With a focus on children with developmental delays, or "D.D. Angels," the company initiated the "Children’s Early Intervention Support Program," dedicating manpower and resources to promote early intervention for children. Through this initiative, EVA Air hopes to spark broader awareness of the needs of children with developmental delays, working together to improve child health and well-being.
