Dalian is a port in Liaoning province. It is the second-largest city in Liaoning after the capital Shenyang. Nowadays, Dalian has become a financial, shipping and logistics center for north east Asia but its port has a history of being used by foreign powers. Zhongshan Square was originally designed by the Russians in the 19th century and is the most famous square in Dalian. The reason for its fame is the classical buildings built by the Japanese during the first half of the 20th century. The biggest water park, Laohutan Ocean Park, is situated centrally on the southern seashore. It is not only a place with a beautiful beach, it also offers entertainment, shopping, and culture.
