Mileage accumulation ratio will be raised from original TPM×130%, 1.5 sectors to TPM×175%, 2 sectors.

Mileage accumulation ratio is according to your respective applicable purchased fare class. You can earn both Award Miles and Status Miles after flying.

Award Miles can be used for a variety of award redemptions, such as EVA Air/UNI Air award tickets and cabin upgrades, Star Alliance award tickets and cabin upgrades.

Status Miles can be used for card tier upgrades and renewals.

By taking EVA Air/UNI Air international flights and Star Alliance members' flights (excludes Star Alliance Connecting Partner Juneyao Airlines [HO]), members can earn a different percentage of Status Miles according to their purchased fare class.

By taking EVA Air/UNI Air international flights as well as Star Alliance members' flights and Star Alliance Connecting Partner Juneyao Airlines (HO) flights, members can earn Award Miles.

Award Miles can also be earned from other partners, such as EVA Air Co-Brand Card and other credit cards, car hire and hotel bookings, and even purchased miles count towards Award Miles.

It's based on Status Miles from the purchased fare class.

By flying EVA Air during their birth month, Silver Card, Gold Card or Diamond Card members will be credited extra bonus Award Miles as a birthday gift. The calculation is based on the highest amount of purchased fare class Status Miles.

Mileage accumulation is according to your applicable purchase fare class accrual ratio; you can earn both Award Miles and Status Miles after flying. On top of this, Silver Card, Gold Card or Diamond Card members will get an additional Tier Bonus. Silver Card members can earn an additional TPM×15% Award Miles while Gold Card or Diamond Card members can earn an additional TPM×25% Award Miles.

Example:

A Silver Card member who takes a one-way flight in C class from Taipei-San Francisco can earn an additional 15% Award Miles as a Tier Bonus (968 miles). Therefore, this one-way C class ticket from Taipei-San Francisco can earn a total of 12,256 Award Miles.

The calculation is 6450 (TPM of Taipei-San Francisco) × 175% (Purchased Fare Class accrual ratio) + 6450 × 15% (Tier Bonus ratio) = 12,256 miles.

To upgrade journeys taken on or after 5 March 2019 to Silver Card, a Green Card member needs to accumulate 30,000 miles, as well as four qualifying EVA Air/UNI Air international flight sectors or 26 or more qualifying EVA Air/UNI Air international flight sectors, within a 12-month consecutive period.

The new Extend Remainder benefit will apply to journeys taken on or after 5 March 2019.

Status Miles accumulated between the dates after reaching card tier upgrade and the start of the new card validity will count towards extending the same card tier for the first time and can be kept for 2 years.

Example:

A Green Card member reaches card tier upgrade to Silver Card after taking BR12/06APR2019/TPE-LAX; the new Silver Card will be effective from May 2019. For flights taken between 07 April 2019 and 30 April 2019, Status Miles can count towards extending the same card tier for the first time.

Diamond Card members who make reservations with their membership card number 48 hours prior to flight departure are guaranteed a seat on Up Fare—K in Premium Economy Class or Y/B in Economy Class.

Members who purchase Standard Fare and Up Fare tickets can redeem cabin upgrade awards, and the mileage deduction of Up Fare is less than Standard Fare. For more details, please click here.

Example: You wish to upgrade to Business Class flying from Taiwan to Hong Kong or Taiwan to Macau; the mileage deduction for the Standard Fare is 12,500 miles but only 10,000 miles for Up Fare, saving you 2500 miles.

Effective from the new Fare Family product announcement regarding seat selections made on and after 5 March 2019, Silver Card members themselves are entitled to select Standard Seats if their ticket fare type is Discount Fare, Basic Fare or Standard Fare; if they purchase Up Fare, Preferred Seats are also free of charge.

Note if travel companions are not Silver Card, Gold Card or Diamond Card members, seat selection is based on their respective ticket fare type.
