Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, in southwestern China, is the cultural, political, economic and transportation center of Yunnan. Kunming is a gateway between southwest China and southeast Asia. From Kunming visitors can visit Shangri-La to the west and Xishuangbanna to the south.
