EVA Air and UNI Air offer seat-selection services. Depending on your chosen Fare Family, you can select your preferred seat in advance for free or for a small fee. Spoil yourself with a perfect, comfortable journey.

When travelling on Up and Standard fare families, passengers can enjoy complimentary advance seat selection. Passengers who purchase Basic may pay a fee to select a seat in advance on our official website, or for free via online/mobile check-in within 48 hours prior to flight departure.

Extra Legroom Seats
These seats are located in the emergency exit row and offer more legroom. Enjoy a more comfortable journey with the ample legroom offered.
Seats in this zone may be purchased by all Economy Class Fare Family customers. Please note that as the seats are located in the emergency exit row and per flight safety and operational requirements, you must meet certain requirements to be seated in the emergency exit row. Preferred Seats
Seats in this zone are located in the front rows of economy class. We understand that you can't wait to start your trip when you arrive at the destination and want to disembark as soon as possible.
Passengers who purchase Up may select these seats in advance for free. For remaining product types, you will have the option to select a seat in advance for a fee on our official website, or for free via online/mobile check-in within 48 hours prior to flight departure.
Standard Seats
All Economy Class seats not classified as an Extra Legroom Seat or a Preferred Seat are Standard Seats.
Passengers who purchase Up and Standard may select these seats in advance for free. If you have purchased Basic or Discount, you will have the option to select a seat in advance for a fee on our official website, or for free via online/mobile check-in within 48 hours prior to flight departure.

- Short-haul routes: Between Taiwan and Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China. Long-haul routes: Between Taiwan and the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and between Thailand and Europe.
- The amount payable may be different due to local currency fluctuations.

Note 1: All Extra Legroom Seats are chargeable seats. Seat zones that can be selected for free 48 hours prior to flight departure will differ depending on the Fare Family purchased.
I want to select a chargeable seat:
- You can purchase a chargeable seat directly while booking your flight on the EVA Air official website/EVA Mobile App, or purchase via Manage Your Trip on the EVA Air official website/EVA Mobile App after you have completed your booking.
- Extra Legroom Seats in Economy Class can be purchased up until 12 hours prior to flight departure. You can also purchase these seats at the airport counter when you check in. If you need to purchase the Extra Legroom Seat during the flight, please contact the flight attendants. However, seats are subject to availability and offered on a first come, first served basis. For more details please refer to Exit seat information.
For bassinet passenger seat selections, please visit an EVA Air reservations centre.
- Paid seat selections are not transferable to another person.
- Changes are limited to the same route and within the same or a lower-priced seat zone. Charges paid or the difference will not be refunded.
- Seats in Premium Economy Class, as well as Preferred and Standard seats in Economy Class, can be changed for free within 48 hours prior to flight departure during online/mobile check-in.
- The EVA Air official website and EVA Mobile App only support Extra Legroom Seat changes within the same seat zone up to 48 hours before flight departure. If you need to change your selected seat within 48 hours before flight departure, please contact an EVA Air reservations centre or inform our airport staff at check-in. We will try to accommodate your request subject to seat availability at the time.
- When there is a change in your itinerary, we cannot guarantee that you will be seated in the seat you had purchased in advance on your original flight. We also cannot guarantee that there will be a seat meeting your requirements for selection on the flight of your new itinerary, as seats are subject to the availability at the time of your itinerary change.
- Seat selection fees are non-refundable and are valid for the associated ticket of the journey only; this also applies to free seat selection provided as a result of changing to a higher Fare Family, cabin upgrade with miles, or not being able to use the seat selection service you had purchased as a result of EVA Air upgrading you to a superior cabin for operational and aviation safety reasons.
- Refunds are possible only under the following conditions:
- Involuntary changes
In circumstances where a passenger's seat selection is changed involuntarily, we will do our best to allocate you a seat in the same seat zone. If a replacement seat in the same seat zone cannot be allocated, the passenger is entitled to apply for a refund. Involuntary changes include:- Change or cancellation of an EVA Air/UNI Air flight.
- Your seat had to be changed due to aircraft deployment or safety/security reasons.
- A connecting flight operated by EVA Air/UNI Air is missed due to a delay from a previous EVA Air/UNI Air flight.
- The associated ticket is refunded
Seat selection fees can be refunded with refund of the ticket. Please apply via EVA Air official website Refund Application/Inquiry.
- Involuntary changes
- Chargeable seats are only applicable to EVA Air/UNI Air-operated international flights ticketed under EVA Air/UNI Air stock (695/525), and are not applicable to codeshare flights on partner airlines.
- All seats offered for advance selection will always be subject to availability at the time of request regardless of whether you need to pay for the seat or not.
- Seat selection is not applicable to passengers travelling in a group (booking class code G).
- Seat selection charges are paid for the right to select a seat within a specific seat zone of the booked flight. It is not a right to select specific seat numbers or to designate a window or aisle seat. Seat selection is subject to the availability at the time of selection.
- Seat selection fees are non-refundable unless the ticket is refunded. They are valid for the associated ticket of the journey only. The valid period of use is the same as the ticket. The seat selection cannot be transferred to another ticket you had purchased to the same destination.
- You can select a chargeable seat, or select a seat for free during online/mobile check-in or at the airport counter. However, we cannot guarantee that you and your companions will be seated together. For passengers to/from Canada and travelling with children under the age of 14, please refer to Customer Commitment.
- We currently do not support seat selection payments with Infinity MileageLands miles.
- Your Infinity MileageLands membership tier at the time of the seat selection will determine whether you are qualified for the complimentary seat selection. We do not accept refund requests if your membership tier changes after paying for your seat.
- Whether you have selected a seat for free or by paying a fee, please complete check-in at least 1 hour prior to departure. Failure to complete check-in will result in your seat being released. Seat selection fees will not be refunded.
- Passengers who have paid for Extra Legroom Seats must meet our safety requirements for exit row seats. We ask that you read the Exit Seat Information before your purchase. Passengers who are ineligible to sit in an Exit Seat will be reassigned to another seat before or during their journey with no refund of any seat selection fees.
- For cabin service and flight safety concerns, passengers are not allowed to change to an Extra Legroom Seat once on board. If there is additional purchase demand during the flight, please contact the flight attendants.
- EVA Air/UNI Air may at any time change the fee charged for seat selection. Please refer to the actual amount payable displayed at the time of seat selection.
- EVA Air/UNI Air reserves the right to assign passenger seats or reallocate seats at any time due to operational requirements or safety reasons.
- EVA Air/UNI Air reserves the right to amend and define the aforementioned terms and conditions at any time without notice.
If you are an Infinity MileageLands Diamond Card, Gold Card or Silver Card member, EVA Air will provide you with free seat selection in designated seat zones depending on your membership tier, regardless of the Fare Family that you have purchased, with the exception of the G fare class for group tickets.
