What is Phishing?

Phishing means the phishers use deception to acquire sensitive personal information, such as usernames, passwords, bank account numbers and credit card information, for fraudulent purpose, either by fake websites or emails. Phishers may create a website masquerading as the official website of EVA by using EVA's logos, images and fake email addresses to mislead Internet users into believing that the website is genuine. Email is another method the phishers use to fraudulently acquire your personal information by Trojan Horse or other viruses attached.

What You Can Do to Beat Phishers

  • Choose your passwords carefully.

Use a combination of letters, numbers and special characters. Do not use personal data like your date of birth or a predictable number. Don't use the same password for other websites.

  • Don't reveal your password to other people.

You should be the only person who knows your password. EVA staff will not inquire about your password and such inquiry may be a fraud.

  • Ignore suspicious emails and websites.

Do not follow links provided in suspicious emails and don't open or download email attachments from sources you cannot trust. Please note that EVA does not update customer data via email.

To visit our website, always confirm the entire address (www.evaair.com) is correctly shown on your browser's address bar. If you are led to a suspicious website, please type the URL http://www.evaair.com in another browser window and check if they are the same.

  • Don't send personal and financial information over the Internet unless there is a padlock icon on the status bar.

Always make sure you're using a secure website before submitting any confidential data via your web browser. When a secure connection is established, a small padlock icon will appear on the right side of the status bar.

  • Don't conduct online business transactions by using a publicly used computer.
  • Change your password regularly
  • Secure your computer against malicious software.

It is recommended to install antivirus and firewall software, regularly updating it to secure your computer.
