Important Note:This notice summarizes the relevant regulations of various countries for passengers' reference. All requirements and subsequent updates are subject to the official announcements of the respective countries.

Taiwan

Effective from 00:00 on June 2, 2026, entry for residents of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda will be suspended for 90 days, with the exception of four categories of individuals.

To further mitigate the risk of imported cases and in alignment with practices adopted by countries such as the United States and Canada, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) will implement new border quarantine control measures as detailed below:

I. Suspension of Entry for Residents of the DRC and Uganda

Beginning at 00:00 on June 2, 2026, the issuance of visas to residents of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda will be suspended. Individuals who have already been issued visas will have their entry deferred during this period. This temporary measure will remain in effect for 90 days.

However, the following four categories of individuals are exempted from this restriction:

1. Degree-seeking students who have obtained admission permits from Taiwanese educational institutions.
2. Individuals on official or diplomatic missions.
3. Non-ROC spouses and minor children of ROC nationals.
4. Individuals approved under emergency or humanitarian programs (e.g., attending funerals or visiting critically ill relatives).

II. Quarantine Requirements for Eligible Travelers

ROC nationals, valid Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) holders, and eligible travelers who have a travel history to the affected areas within 21 days prior to arrival must still comply with the measures announced by the CDC on May 27, 2026.

Upon arrival, these travelers are required to:

• Report voluntarily to the airport quarantine station, where quarantine personnel will issue an "Inbound Traveler Self-Health Management Notice."
• Undergo self-health management for 21 days following entry.
• Comply with the regulations stated in the notice, which include reporting health status and immediately calling the epidemic prevention hotline (1922) for medical assistance arranged by local health authorities should any symptoms arise.

Korea

According to a notification from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA),, effective from May 26, 2026 ,at 08:50 (Korea Local Time),in response to the Ebola outbreak, the Korean government has designated South Sudan, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo as "Strict Quarantine Inspection Required Areas"in response to the Ebola outbreak.

Individuals who have visited (including staying or transiting through) a “strict quarantine inspection required area” where Ebola virus disease has occurred must submit a Q-CODE (or Health Declaration Form) to a quarantine officer upon entry into the Republic of Korea. 

Failure to comply may result in a fine of up to 10 million KRW in accordance with the Quarantine Act.

Thailand

In response to the latest resolution issued by the National Communicable Disease Committee and the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand, effective from May 27, 2026, at 18:00 (Thailand Local Time), the Government of Thailand has officially designated the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of Uganda as affected areas for Ebola Virus Disease .

In compliance with local Thai epidemic prevention regulations, all passengers whose itineraries include departure from or transit through these two countries will be subject to strict entry and health declaration screenings upon arrival in Thailand. Please note that entry for these passengers is currently restricted exclusively to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport.

To ensure a smooth journey and compliance with local regulations, passengers meeting the criteria above must complete the Thai government's online health declaration based on their nationality prior to checking in at the airport.

• Non-Thai Citizens must register via the Thailand Electronic Declaration System (https://tdac.immigration.go.th/) to obtain a TDAC QR Code.
• Thai Citizens must register via the Thai Health Pass System (https://thaihealthpass.com/) to obtain a Thai Health Pass QR Code.

Please be advised that any passenger confirmed to have departed from or transited through the Democratic Republic of the Congo or the Republic of Uganda will be required to undergo a mandatory 21-day quarantine upon arrival in Thailand, with the quarantine period calculated starting from the day of departure from the affected area.

Canada

• Travel History to the DRC: Effective July 20, 2026 (23:59 EDT), foreign nationals who have been in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) within the previous 21 days are prohibited from entering Canada. Exempted individuals (e.g., Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents) may enter but will be subject to strict quarantine and health assessments.
• Travel History to Uganda or South Sudan: Travelers who have been in Uganda or South Sudan within the previous 21 days are not subject to the entry prohibition, but remain subject to mandatory quarantine and public health assessment requirements upon arrival in Canada under the Quarantine Act.

U.S.

In accordance with the latest epidemic prevention and border control policies implemented by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) (Updated August 17, 2026), the following boarding and entry restrictions apply to passengers who have visited Ebola-affected countries within the past 21 days:

Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC): 

All travelers, including U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals, who have been in the DRC within 21 days of their flight are prohibited from boarding U.S.-bound flights. This includes all passengers with an intermediate stop or on multi-stop itineraries via the DRC, regardless of whether they disembarked the airplane. U.S. citizens and nationals must remain outside the DRC for 21 days before attempting to travel to the United States.

Uganda and South Sudan: 

All foreign nationals, including Lawful Permanent Residents (green card holders) and family members, who have been in Uganda or South Sudan (and not in the DRC) within the past 21 days are NOT permitted to board flights to the United States until they have been out of these countries for at least 21 days.

Exemptions: Only U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals are permitted to enter. However, they must legally arrive through designated U.S. airports for enhanced public health screening.

The currently designated U.S. airports are as follows:

• Washington-Dulles International Airport (IAD)
• Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)
• George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)
• John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
