Lufthansa Technik AG is proud to announce EVA Air as the first Asian airline having signed for modifications with its drag-reducing and hence fuel-saving AeroSHARK surface technology jointly developed with BASF. The Taipei-based airline decided to have its entire cargo fleet of nine Boeing 777F long-range freighters modified with the innovative riblet films covering the aircraft’s fuselage and engine nacelles. With B-16786, a first EVA Air freighter has already undergone this comprehensive modification at the airline’s homebase at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport. Closely guided by Lufthansa Technik, the modification was executed by EVA Air's affiliate, Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp. (EGAT). The aircraft is expected to re-enter commercial service in early September.

EVA Air has won more accolades, this time from Travel + Leisure’s readers as one of the World’s Best International Airlines of 2024. Based on their experiences with cabin comfort, inflight service, customer service and value, readers responding to the publication’s annual “World’s Best Awards” survey ranked EVA 10th on the list. EVA Air and Chung Yuan Christian University have again partnered to hold the "2024 EVA Air ESG Innovative Design Competition" with invitations to participate extended to teachers and students from colleges and universities. The awards ceremony was staged at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park on May 17, 2024 and cohosted by EVA President Clay Sun and Chung Yuan Christian University Chairman Kwang-Cheng Chang. From May 17 to 20, a four-day "Green Future" exhibition, showcasing outstanding competition designs alongside some of EVA’s own industry-leading sustainability initiatives with emphasis on environmental protections, innovations, regeneration and education.

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (16 April, 2024) EVA Air and Evergreen Airline Services Corp. (EGAS) both earned certification once again from the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA’s) Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma).

EVA Air maintained an open attitude and continued to propose feasible solutions to negotiate with the Taoyuan Union of Pilots (TUP). Both parties eventually reached a consensus to create a win-win situation that protects the rights and interests of passengers and reaches labor harmony. EVA Air especially expresses its appreciation to the Executive Yuan, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Transportation, the Civil Aviation Administration, and the Department of Labor in Taoyuan City for their coordination.
