U.S. Entry Restrictions and Designated Arrival Airports Regarding Ebola Virus Disease (EVD)

In accordance with the latest epidemic prevention and border control policies implemented by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), effective 11:59 p.m. EDT on May 20, 2026, entry into the United States is temporarily suspended for non-U.S. citizens who have been present in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Uganda, or South Sudan within the last 21 days.
Exempted individuals (e.g., U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents) with travel history to any of the aforementioned countries are permitted to enter but must legally arrive through designated U.S. airports for enhanced public health screening by the CDC. The currently designated U.S. airports and their effective dates are as follows:
- Washington-Dulles International Airport (IAD): Effective May 20, 2026.
- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL): Effective May 22, 2026.
- George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH): Effective May 26, 2026.
