EVA Air will launch daily nonstop flights between Taipei and Chiang Mai, starting on 1 July, 2018. The airline will serve the route with an Airbus A321-200 configured in Business and Economy Classes for 184 passengers. The new route will give passengers on EVA’s 82 weekly flights from North America more convenient access to the largest city in Northern Thailand via easy, one-stop connections through Taipei.
Star Alliance has launched a Digital Services Platform (DSP) as a first step to an overall enhancement of digital and mobile services offered to customers travelling across the 28 airline member Star Alliance network. A whirlwind globetrotting trip, stopping only at two destinations for at least 24 hours, is now possible using selected Star Alliance Round the World (RTW) fares. Up to now, a minimum of three stopovers was required for all RTW tickets. This change increases the number of itineraries available under the RTW product for travel on the Star Alliance network.

EVA Air has renamed the innovative in-between cabin that it launched on 12 December, 1992 Premium Economy Class. EVA Airways Corporation has promoted Passenger Management Division Executive Vice President Clay Sun to president, effective upon retirement of current President Dereck Chen on 1 January, 2018. The EVA Board of Directors announced the selection after their 10 November, 2017 meeting.
